Somalian Refugees now exceed 1,100,000

Assalaam Alykum,

The total population of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Somalia is estimated to now exceed 1,100,000. Basic needs of vulnerable populations including the following:

 

  • Adequate shelter
  • Food security
  • Health services
  • Water and sanitation
  • Education and capacity building

 

Helping Hand for Relief and Development has been present in the Horn of Africa since before the crisis. HHRD had already implemented Water for Life projects and Orphan Sponsor Programs.

This year HHRD Emergency Response Team has distributed food and clean drinking water to more than 300 affected families; also working on improved health conditions.
